Ranway Farms is a second generation dairy farm located in the heart of apple country in Wayne county NY. The farm was established in 1984 when Wayne & his wife Randy, along with their two young children purchased the farm. Today, the farm is owned and operated by Wayne and his son Shane. Shane, his wife and their 3 children are all active on the farm and enjoy helping out where needed. It’s truly a family experience to have 3 generations working together. Along with our family, the farm employs one full time, and a few part time dedicated individuals who help us care for our herd.
Our main operation is a Registered Holstein dairy farm where we milk about 100 cows. We are very proud to be part of the Upstate Niagara Cooperativ milk company. Ranway has received the super milk quality award for the past 10 consecutive years. We raise a total of 220 head which includes our milk cows and young stock. Ranway is able to house and care for a small number of high genetic, registered Holstein for our customers who utilize our board service. Type and production are a high priority in our herd. We have a rolling herd average of 26,000 pounds. We farm 500 acres of crop land. This includes corn, hay, soybeans and grazing pasture. The crops produced are used primarily to feed our own Livestock. We do offer a limited supply of non GMO, high quality horse and cow hay.
Our farm also maintains a small herd of beef steers that we raise to sell as freezer beef direct to you. As a family, we are passionate about knowing where our food comes from and how it is cared for. We are very proud to offer you, the consumer, locally grown, hormone & antibiotic free beef. Our beef is aged and processed in a USDA inspected facility. Our beef cattle are raised on forage, primarily grass that is grown exclusively on our farm. Their diet also consists of a small amount of home raised grains which makes a tender and flavorful product that you can’t find in the grocery chains. We sell ¼ and ½‘s as well as individual cuts. We also have a limited supply of home raised pork available for purchase. Please contact us to place your order.
